Peter,

How liberal capitalist do you see an Obama presidency being? (Since it is most likely)  I hope he would govern the economy similarly to Clinton without too many new programs.  My main concern is our sovereignty being relinquished to the Europeans and going soft on our potential enemies.  Any thoughts?

Well first I need to apologize to you. This forum softaware, which is otherwise very impressive, is supposed to email me when someone posts something, but this feature doesn't seem to be working, and thus I didn't notice your posts. I'm really sorry about that. It's probably something I screwd up, but it's about getting time for an upgrade anyway...

About Obama. I'm having a difficult time thinking of any liberal capitalist sentiment I've heard him express. When it comes to the war on terror, he's one of those left liberals who believes that even when it comes to dealing with self-professed foreign enemies of the United States, it is always possible for clever people like himself to bullshit our way out of danger. They likewise believe war should always be a last resort, as do we liberal capitalists, but due to their total belief in the power of their own bullshit, they seem unable to conceptualize ever arriving at that final resort.

With all of his policy proposals being standard American leftist boilerplate (soak the rich and national health care) there's nothing to explore there. He's pro-drug war, anti-gay marriage, has no interest in limiting the scope of government in the slightest, I mean help me out here—can you think of anything liberal or capitalist about Barack Obama? I got nothing.
